Description
Identifying The Mushroom
- Cap: Small to medium-sized (up to 7cm), with a conical to bell-shaped form; colour ranges from light brown to golden brown with a slightly darker center.
- Stipe (Stem): Thick, long stems (up to 6.5cm tall) with light brown to caramel colour. Smooth and can exhibit some discolouration or bruising.
- Spores: Rhomboid shape
This mushroom can grow sclerotia, which are compact growths in the mycelium that store nutrients. This growth formation occurs as an evolutionary adaptation to extreme temperatures.
Potency
The Koh Samui mushroom is high in compounds like psilocybin and psilocin, with small amounts of baeocystin and norbaeocystin.
- Psilocybin: 0.63%
- Total Tryptamine Levels: 0.7%
The high from these mushrooms is powerful, though not as strong as Penis Envy or Tidal Wave varieties. The psychedelic experience from dried shrooms can feel confusing, accompanied by strong visual hallucinations. A rush of energy and euphoria also characterize the high.
